Alpha Converting exhibited its ALPHATWIN twin shaft slitter rewinder on its Drupa stand. The machine is configured for high speed winding with rapid job change and features a patented automatic knife setting system that will typically reposition both sets of knives in First time exhibitor! The slitting system can easily be switched between shear and razor slitting for different products.
Integrated with the automatic knife setting is rewind core laser positioning. “A laser line guides the operator for setting the rewind cores and the system receives the required positions from the knife setting so that there is no set up time when changing slitting patterns and the cores are positioned right first time,” says Simon King, the company’s managing director.
The ALPHATWIN is fitted with a separate shaftless unwind with floor pick up and splice table. The maximum running speed is 600 m/min. Roll unloading can be by either a roll trolley or other unloading systems to suit customer requirements.
